Spider Web Hairstyles!!

Okay, this one didn't turn out quite how I had envisioned it. I wanted it to look more........ well, more like a spider web! Next time I do it, I'm going to take smaller sections, I think that would help. I might just do the regular elastic braids, instead of trying to make these box thingys too.

Well whatever, you get the idea right? The main reason I wanted to do this style anyway is to show off this cute spider bow!

This is how you start..........
Come back across, and add the bun...........

Do you love the bow? Look how happy this cute spider made the princess!!! She absolutely loves it. She'll most likely be wearing it in her hair every single day until Halloween.

And now, here's my second attempt! In this case, the parts themselves are supposed to be the web. Use your imagination, I realize it's a stretch! I'm still not in love with it. Maybe the princess will let me try one more idea I have for this tomorrow.........

Alright, this is the last spider web I'm posting, I promise!! (This post is getting really long.) This one is for all of you who voted that you like the weird stuff!! Instructions for this one have been added here.

If your daughter likes attention, this is a good one for that. We've been stopped by random strangers several times today wanting to take a gander. I'm guessing they thought we were insane!

Whould you like to comment?

  1. Super cute! I totally see the spider web. I do want to see it in smaller sections if you decide to try it. Congrats on winning the spider, too. I am completely jealous!

  3. Joann, you're sweet. That comment made me feel better :)

Jamie, I just looked through your whole blog and finally found the Spiderman!! I don't know how I missed it. I actually almost did that EXACT same thing! But, I wanted it more square. As you can see, it turned out blah. So, that might be my next option. I'll keep trying until I get it right. Or until my daughter tells me where to go! LOL.

  7. I think it would look great if you did it with really tiny sections and a ton of elastics. Great job though!

  8. I am SO glad I stumbled upon your blog!

For years I would torture any young girl within arms reach of me and do their hair....

NOW, I have my OWN daughter and I am always trying out new things on her! (she's 2) So I'll be back often! LOVE it!

  9. Hello, I found your site after some cyber stalking :)! My five year old daughter is also going to be Belle for halloween. My only problem? She is short shoulder length hair, and it is very fine (not thick at all) do you have any ideas or suggestions for me as to how I could/should to her hair?!?

  10. Suebug, I'm wondering if the Belle hair do I posted would work, but do it with a half pony instead of all the hair up, then curl the bottom? Or you could do a half pony, only pulling the hair halfway through the elastic and adding a yellow bow around the rubber band.

  19. Your blog has been inspiring so many fun hair-do's for my daughter lately. Thank you for sharing all of your fun ideas :)
I actually tried a slightly different version of the spider-web, inspired by yours, but instead of squares I sort of rounded the sections. If you want to check it out here is the link.
