Here she is with her dripping wet long hair before the Locks of Love hair donation:
And, here she is with her new, cute, short "A Line" haircut after:
Do you like? I happen to think she looks really cute with this new hairdo! And she is soooo excited about it. She's been wanting go get it cut for awhile, but I made her wait for a couple of weeks after she made the decision. I wanted her to be sure it was what she really wanted. Because you know, once it's cut.... it's cut!

My mom (the Princess's Grandma) passed away right before The Princess was born from cancer and we've talked about how she lost her hair and had to wear a wig. The Princess is also aware that some children suffer from hair loss and really wanted to help out another child. She wanted to help make someone happy. That is the main reason she wanted to do this.
I'm so disappointed in myself. I had our camera all ready to record the hair cut at the salon so that the Princess could watch it later. I had the perfect angle, sat there with the camera and filmed big moment (or so I thought) and then when I went to play it back, nothing was there. I must not have pushed the record button!! LAME
So unfortunately you won't get to watch the actual cutting. But, we made a "post hair cut interview" for your viewing pleasure instead.
Here's the Princess's thoughts on her new haircut and why she wanted to do it.....
Oh and one more thing.... I've been hearing some "stuff" about Locks of Love from various sources. I'll be posting on that topic next. I appreciate all of your feedback!
she looks so cute! when i saw locks of love, I had to comment, because the other day at my school, there was a girl cutting everyone's hair, right in the middle of the hallway, for locks of love! it was crazy, pretty much everyone was doing it, without like telling their parents or anything... just getting their hair cut at school! But it looks really good! short hair will probably be the style now:)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love it! It looks so much easier to take care of. Good for her!
ReplyDeleteI think that she looks great. I can't wait to see what hair styles you come up with now!!!
ReplyDeleteShe looks fabulous! Her kind heart and spirit just make her that much prettier, too! I'm sure you are a very "Proud Mama"...as you should be <3. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteI love the hair cut, it's very cute. And how proud you must be of your princess for making such a big girl decision and being so selfless! When I was a bit younger I read a book by Margaret Peterson Haddix called Because of Anya. Anya is 10 and wears a wig and her new friend wants to know why...I won't tell the whole story but at the end was information about Locks of Love. Since reading that book I've been pretty passionate about the cause. I've donated my hair twice now, 12 inches the first time, and another 10 inches last May (still growing out now.) Congratulations to your Princess for her lovely hair cut and to you for having such a caring daughter!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a precious princess! How thoughtful! :)

She looks wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteShe looks beautiful! It is for a great cause, and now, maybe you can help those of us who struggle with how to do short hairstyles!:) You are a wonderful family!
ReplyDeleteIts gorgeous! How grown up she is!!
ReplyDeleteTrisha
it's adorable and still long enough for you to do a lot with it. She is one pretty girl!
ReplyDeleteI really like the style and the motivation. And, dude, that hair is not short, there's still plenty you can do with it.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it! Her hair is beautiful and she looks so proud and perfect with it shorter. What an amazing gift!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing what styles you create with her shorter 'do!
She looks adorable!
ReplyDeleteNot only do I think she looks fabulous, but I have to say that this is such a beautiful thing to do. My son is almost 5 years cancer free after being diagnosed with Leukemia. What she has done will not be unappreciated!
ReplyDeleteIt's adorable!
ReplyDeleteIt's adorable and still plenty long enough to do cute little braids and styles with. I think it's fantastic how she is helping a person that needs it. I have a friend who has alopecia and has no hair (anywhere on her body) and she has so much fun with wigs and the like. Most people don't even know she has it due to the high quality, real hair wigs thanks to kind people like y'all!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT!!!! I think she looks beautiful with it cut! Actually.....I think I like it better. It frames her face nicely. Plus it is always good to let our kids help and feel important in making a differnce. I love it:)
ReplyDeleteShe looks adorable!
ReplyDeleteSo totally stinkin' cute! I swear her freckles look brighter! :) Way to go little Princess! You did a beautiful thing! :)
ReplyDelete14 inches! Wow! She really is adorable with shorter hair. Now you'll have to learn new hairdos!!!
ReplyDeleteShe's adorable!
So sweet! My favorite princess has always been Belle, because she wasn't born royalty, but became a princess because of her kind heart. Your princess definitely is a true princess, inside and out! She's amazing and she looks so cute with her new cut!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great cut! And she's so awesome for donating to locks of love!!
ReplyDeleteShe looks so grown up and cute with her hair that length, WAY CUTE!! I love it!! Way to go Princess!!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I'm also secretly excited because my princess also has an a-line haircut! I'm hoping you'll post some cute do's for short hair. Your princess is so thoughtful and kind. Donating your hair may seem like a small thing but it surely is no small thing to the person who will love your hair.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! it makes her look older, I know you don't want to hear that, but it does. Can't wait to see your new styles.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! How thoughtful! :)
ReplyDeleteJaime
She is so darling!!! I love the new cut.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetheart and she looks adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteyay! I just cut my daughter's hair short; I love short hair on her. The only reason I was keeping it long was because I was trying to do more hairstyles, but I finally gave up. Now hopefully I will see some short styles on this blog. Hooray!
ReplyDeleteShe is darling,.. seriously so cute! It is fun to see a little of her personality, something pictures just don't show. I love the cut, also! Very stylish and grown up looking! My Mother is going through Chemo for a 2nd time right now and just purchase 2 more wigs (for a total of 5 she owns). Tell princess that she is an angel to those of us who see first hand how important this act is. My Mom often feels so ugly and unlike herself and the wigs help her to keep going out and fighting the cancer that is threatening her life. WAY TO GO, Princess!
ReplyDeleteHer haircut is adorable! What a wonderful thing to do! I'm excited to see what fun things you do with her hair!
ReplyDeleteSO CUTE! What a girl! The only sad part about it is that she looks so grown up now. What happened to the little girl. Too bad they have to grow up. SO beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I like it better with this style!! :) She looks adorable!!
I'm anxious to see what hairstyles you will do with it shorter. My 7 yr old keeps telling me she wants it cut to her shoulders!! I think I'm the one who will miss it!!
She looks beautiful! And what a sweet little soul making such a selfless decision all on her own. I'm sure she's made a huge difference in someone's life. My two year old just lost a few inches compliments of a self cut, and has shoulder length hair now so I'm excited to see what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteShe looks cute! Goose loved the feeling that she could help some little kiddo out back when she cut hers about 2 years ago. My aunt is fighting breast cancer for the 2nd time and she says she wants to grow it cut it this time so they can make her a wig! I love how giving and sweet children can be. Congrats on the new look.
ReplyDeleteThe new cut looks great on her! It looks so much thicker and healthier. It's still plenty long enough to do fun styles with too. Great job raising a daughter with such a kind heart!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful girl with a beautiful heart! I love the new look! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the new cut and she is such a special little girl to do this!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, her hair is soooo cute and so is she!!
ReplyDeleteShe looks so very cute. My daughter did the same thing last Friday. She had never had a haircut in almost 7 years, yet she wanted to cut her hair for Locks for Loves. My daughter also got an A-line cut. Can't wait to see what you will do with this!
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that?! That's so generous of your daughter. I think she looks so sweet as well there are lots of great things do and discover with shorted hair :).... your all so nice !
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely adorable!! A very "Princess-like" thing to do :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I am so excited for shorter hairstyles so it will work on my princess's hair.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetheart your little princess is. Love the the short hair......very cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed the princess went beyond the LOL requirements and chopped 14 inches.
ReplyDeleteShe looks adorable! What a great cause also. My girlie keeps asking when she can have short hair and I just can't bear to get it cut. Maybe your little princess will be our inspiration. Soo Cute!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful! What a selfless thing she did!
ReplyDeleteSuper Cute!!! She is a doll. My daughter just got her haircut! We are sending it help with the oil spill.
ReplyDeleteShe looks totally gorgeous!!! Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I look forward to what you have to say on Locks of Love. I, too, have heard some "stuff" and want to make sure our donation goes where it's needed most.
ReplyDeleteThe hair cut is darling, and your little Princess is such a beautiful girl. She just emanates sweetness!
ReplyDeletePrincess looks adorable! And with her generous donation another child will have the same chance to look adorable too! My son did this 2 years ago (he was 35 & he has very wavy/curly hair) so it took a bit longer to grow.. I know several others who have done it too. I bet her hair will be back to that length by Christmas! Blessing!
ReplyDeleteFaythe @GMT
thank u Princess to from all the cancer patients and families out there,my Mom just got diagnosed with breast cancer in January and has since completed 4 sessions of chemo and has 4 more to go,all her hair is gone...anyway she's a doll inside and out!
ReplyDeleteoh wow! good for her though. a great donation!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute cut! I love that. My daughter chopped her own hair before it was long enough (and before she was old enough) to donate hers, but the end result is a similar length to your princess.
ReplyDeleteI am excited to see what you can do with this length and lake look good and work right. Thanks for your posts!

ReplyDeleteThat's so great! Once my daughter's hair is long enough we are going to do the same thing. She looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteShe looks so cute! My daughter just recently did the same thing with her hair and I have been struggling to figure out what to do with it! I'm so happy cause I know now that you will have some great inspiration for me and my princess' hair!
ReplyDeleteOh my word she looks sooooo cute and pretty. I am so shocked how it turned out. How adorable! I'm so glad she did it. Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE her new hairdo it looks cute even though it's down.
