So... anyone interested in learning this one? Or maybe you already know how to do a 7 strand braid, or wouldn't use it? Let me know in the comments.
Want To Learn This Braid?
This "7 strand woven braid" is one of our all time favorite braids! And yes, I did say SEVEN strands lol. It's surprisingly easy though (easier than it looks anyway.) We actually use it a lot but I've never posted it before because it's just too hard to explain the plaits in pictures. Well, we (finally) got a new camera that records for more than 60 seconds, YAY. So I just might consider trying to do a video on it if some of you want to learn. I was actually planning on finding a tutorial and linking you to it (that would be a lot easier!) But I've searched and searched and haven't been able to find instructions anywhere.
So... anyone interested in learning this one? Or maybe you already know how to do a 7 strand braid, or wouldn't use it? Let me know in the comments.

Ps. I love your blog! :)
Hey I've been checking out your site the last few weeks for my 3 year old. even her nanna (hair dresser) loved the little star and stayed in with fine hair even the twist/weave.
ReplyDeleteanyway i just thought for the flat plaits like this the best instructions are in leather/rope work books. I have one here somewhere but never thought about doing them in hair but then again my daughters hair would be a bit fine/short to pull it off. The flate braids like this are commonly used for belts/ropes for bull riders and the smaller one for reins. It may be better to show a smaller one like a 5 plait cause after all the 7-9 + plaits are just adding that extra strand in.
Sorry this got too long.
Jesskah
sorry me again, had a quick look.
ReplyDeletethis link shows some quick steps of the plait. just scroll half way down.
