Teardrop Mermaid Braid Hairstyle
This week we wanted to show a simple and fairly easy braided hairstyle that would be perfect for summer.... or for a school day. This style is a combination of a mermaid braid, a French lace braid, and a ponytail. We love how thia mermaid braid starts in the center, then opens up into a "teardrop shape." As mentioned in our tutorial (below) you can finish this hairstyle in a number of ways. If you wanted to add a braid at the bottom (instead of a ponytail) you could add a fishtail, rope braid, 3-strand, 4-strand, etc. I think a bun or updo would also be a cute way to finish this style.

Depending on the texture of hair you are working with, you may want to braid the hair damp like we did to help avoid flyaways and to keep the hair smooth. Of course, some hair textures will work best when braided dry, so do whatever works for you. If you would like, you can also use hair products such as pomade, gel, or wax as you are braiding.
This style should work with straight hair, wavy hair, curly hair, long hair, and medium length hair.
