While we were coming up with our 4th of July hairstyles, The Princess said she wanted a hairdo that looked like a star firework. Mmmkay!!
So here we have a Star Firework, an idea created from the mind of a Princess.....
First make a headband part with some pigtails underneath. Do 4 twisted cornrows in the headband, from ear to ear. (2 on each side of the center part.) I made these cornrows kind of the same way a French Braid is made. Take a piece in front and twist it.......Then take a section from behind and twist it in with the first section. Keep going all the way back to the part.As you get the end of the part, just keep twisting and add the twists to the opposite pigtail. (The 2 twists on the right side of her head go to the left pigtail and vice versa.) You should have something sort of resembling a star at this point. If you want to stop right here, just add some bows and you will have a cute star hairstyle. But as requested from The Princess, we needed some fireworks!! I just made some buns and left the ends out to spike like firecrackers!!
The Princess was very proud of her fun idea.

That's really cute and different. Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI have three girls and I am really not very good with hair at all. Right now I am working on practice, practice, practice! Are there specific tools/items I need? Do some combs work better than others, etc.? I would appreciate any advice you could give a newbie!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for posting all of your fabulous ideas. What a blessing to have stumbled across your page!
I love when they have ideas of their own! It just adds to the fun of it. My daughter just started Violin lessons and wants me to do a violin in her hair! Yikes!!! I have a few ideas so we'll see:) But you pulled off what she asked for...Yeah!
ReplyDeleteReally cute and pretty easy. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSo fun! Your DD is brilliant! I am almost ready to post some 4th hairdo's also... what is MOST scary is when my hubby comes up with one! He had one come to him the other day in Old Navy when he was looking at a chew-toy for dogs!!!

ReplyDeleteI did this this morning and it turned out SO cute. I LOVE it. Your twist pictures are really good and it helped so much having her hair wet. I've always done braids/cornrows, but not so much twists. I LOVE your blog!
