We're calling it the Never Ending French Braid Bun because it's hard to tell where the braid starts and where it ends! This could also be called a French Braid crown, a Starburst Braid, or a Halo Braid. Well, whatever you want to call it... it's a fun and unique french braid hairstyle that probably isn't done very often!
You could do this hairstyle in several different variations. We actually did a hairstyle using this same concept awhile back in a half ponytail. You can see that one here: Rays of Sunshine Hairstyle.
Here is the hair style using one single braid/bun:
Or, you could double the braids up and make french braid pigtail buns!
In pigtails, this actually reminds me of a Princess Leia Hairstyle. ;)
Here's the video tutorial:
Of course if you wanted to, you could add some flowers or ribbons to this hairdo. I think it would be an adorable Hairstyle For Easter Sunday!
This is awesome! We're going to try it right now! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you for showing me new ways to dress up my little girl's hair...this is a great hairstyle!!!

ReplyDeletethat is amazing my daughter had just seen this in a picture in one of our church board books and asked me to do it, so I hopped online to figure it out- our first attempt came out ok, but I think I will try it your way since it was a booger adn a half to do the way I found directions for. You are an answer to our prayers! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic set of instructions! I just did this for my oldest daughter's orchestra concert tonight, and it went SO well for a first attempt. Thank you SO MUCH! It looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I just found your website, and your facebook, and will definitely be a frequent visitor. My 7 year old daughter loves new hairstyles and this one will definitely wow her - can't wait to do lots more!
ReplyDeleteI just want to say THANK YOU so much for sharing your knowledge and talent with us! THis is such a valuable web page and for you to share it like this is so generous. I can't wait to try some of these styles out on my girls!!! Thank you again!!!
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm 20 and don't have any kids yet, but I just love this blog! It's so great to get ideas for my own hair ^_^ I learned to fishtail braid from you :) So thanks! On a side note, I've been to quite a few Renaissance-period faires where they pretty much call this beautiful braid a French crown. Or a Dutch crown, if you use a Dutch braid rather than French.
ReplyDeletecute stuff! Love doin hairstyles to my little sister! Won't be able to do this one though sense I can't figure out how to do a circuler part! But thanks anyways for all the others! You're great! (:
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! Now I need to work out how to do it on myself!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is my "go-to" source for great hair. I am inspired and in awe by your creations and talent. Your videos and photo tutorials are very helpful and the key to our success.
